Is there something of the mid-life crisis about rediscovering metal? Quite possibly. But for me, my love of a little of the heavy stuff now and again never really waned. But certainly the bands have changed with my tastes.

Sam Dunn's favourite band is Iron Maiden and one of his films is Iron Maiden: Flight 666 (http://www.bangerfilms.com/iron-maiden-flight-666/2011/11/)--haven't seen that one myself yet but I'm intrigued. Apparently somewhere along the way Bruce Dickinson became a pilot and now flies the touring plane!

We`re thinking along similar lines. One of my students is a real metal head and a fan of Iron Maiden, Five Finger Death Punch and Rammstein and has gotten me back into it. Maybe it`s my fading testocerone and/or middle-aged outlook but I find it engaging once again. Rediscovering the joys of white trash? Maybe!!
